Affordability
At $2,950 per year SOMD Boat Club Membership is about 1/4th of the cost of owning a boat (a simple annual comparison of the two is on the Club Details page). You do not pay for slip fees, insurance, maintenance, etc. All you pay for each year is the membership fees and the gas you use. Plus, the boats are fueled, cleaned, and ready to go each time. How simple is that!
Availability
With a very low Member to Boat ratio club members rarely, if ever, have an issue reserving a boat. In addition, a simple explanation of the Member Area Reservation System makes finding and reserving a boat for a weekday or weekend a breeze. Part of being a member of the club gives you availability to water toys---Skis---Tubes--and Knee Boards---All included. These items make a kid out of everyone!
Instruction
All members need to be Maryland Boater Certified. The MD Boater Certification can be handled online through Maryland Department of Natural Resources website. Further, the staff at Coltons Point Marina will provide you a 1.5 hr Check Ride. This introduction to the fleet will provide simple operation of each of the boats, an understanding of the marina, slips, and docking, and a lay of the land/sea so you know where to go to have fun on the water.
